St Andrews Church, Bere Ferrers: St Andrews Church, Bere FerrersThe church of St Andrew is exceptionally interesting and is well worth a visit. It was re-built by Sir William de Ferrers in the 14th century and was altered in the 15th century. Notable features include the 14th century stained glass in the East window, reputed to be the oldest in Devon except one or two windows in Exeter Cathedral, and the vigorously carved Norman Font dating from the late 1100s. Among the other notable features include the 16th century seats with carved bench-ends and book-rests; the 17th century fireplace and the medieval tombs.
