Plymouth Classics website gives details.

Friday 20 July:
A Gallery Bar Special: Unstrung Heroes featuring Geoff Lakeman

A regular on the Plymouth/ west country music scene for over 35 years, Steve Potter has played a huge range of music on violin and mandolin, from Renaissance to rock via morris and barn dances. After a number one hit in Portugal with indie band ‘The Catholics’, Steve moved on to ‘Mad Dog McRea’ precursors ‘My Earthly Twin’ before joining Geoff in the 1920s/30s tin-pan alley trio Speakeasy.

A classic, percussive finger-pick guitarist, Peter Acty is equally at home accompanying English or Irish folk songs, Appalachian, blues or ragtime. He is a mean American-style frailing banjo player too.

Geoff Lakeman on duet concertina, vocals and spoons is father of a folk dynasty. His youngest son is Seth Lakeman, elder brother is Sean who plays guitar in Seth’s band and middle brother is piano-playing Sam who is married to Irish singing sensation Cara Dillon. Geoff also fronts ‘Speakeasy’ with Steve Potter and guitarist Steve Redman.
