The Tamar Valley Discovery Trail

The Tamar Valley Discovery Trail is a long distance route of some 30 miles in total, passing though the valley from Plymouth to Launceston.

The Trail is varied and interesting, crossing both the River Tavy and River Tamar and incorporating a ride on the scenic Tamar Valley Line.
Superb scenery, ranging from wide open estuary to woodland and farmland. Using paths, tracks and quiet roads, the route is waymarked with an apple symbol. The trail includes links to a number of village circuits, offering a variety of days out, including options for those who would just like a short stroll rather than a long walk.

Download the details and route map at the Tamar Valley Tourism Association website.

A detailed information pack is available from Tourist Information Centres in the area, priced at £5.95. This includes details of the route, points of interest, local facilities, train, ferry and tide times. For details go to the Tamar Valley AONB website.
