Our nearest airport is Plymouth which is currently under threat of closure..

If you can't get the flight you want to and from Plymouth the next option would be Exeter, about an hour and a half drive or train journey or Bristol, about a two and a half hour drive or train journey.  Flights to Newquay could also be checked, about an hour and a half hour drive.
