Moorings and Storage
Location, location, location...
Access to your mooring is at all stages of all tides. Tenders are launched from the Yard slipway. Conventionally the skipper will bring the boat to the Yard’s berthing pontoon, which is accessible for two thirds of all tides, for boarding and provisioning.
The moorings are relatively sheltered from all but gales from SSW which will bring waves in wind against tide conditions. A big spring tide will run as much as 2 ½ knots and, if there has been a lot of rain, this can be surpassed. An outboard with your tender is essential for all but the closest moorings.
The surrounding area
You can reach open water from the moorings at all stages of all tides, but the channel is narrow and unpredictable for a short stretch downstream of Cargreen and you will need to know your way or feel adventurous to take a keel boat down at low water springs.
